Havent been here in a while. Checking in. Looks like Ill be moving to TN next month. Finally got the wife to decide to quit her job and lets go. Pretty sick of all the leftist, race baiting here in Jackson, MS and watching the criminals get away with murder. Been looking for houses in the Chattanooga area. Decided to take the advice of a member here. We were going to go up and buy a house and move in. But since this is going to be our last move, our retirement home, we are going to rent for a year, make sure we want to be in the area and maybe build.

If anyone knows of a house for rent, a nice house, in the Chattanooga area, preferably on the river, let me know. Im looking for Chattanooga and out to about 40 miles.

Check out river city property management's website. They have tons of houses for rent in and around Chattanooga. This is a great city but like anywhere else we have our rough parts of town.

Good call on renting first. I've been here almost 2 years now and it's a pretty nice place. Housing is through the roof though, especially here in the city itself. If you're looking to buy you'll probably want to look more on the outskirts. The closer you get to downtown the higher the prices get it seems like. We're still renting...

When I moved here I emailed a bunch of local realtors that I wanted something to rent for the first year, possibly with the option to buy. Or, I would rent for the first year until I found something to buy. When I started talking about renting most of the realtors backed out and told me to contact them when I was ready to buy. My house was still for sale.

One realtor said “Okay, let’s do thatâ€. We had several phone conversations about what we wanted. When we arrived and met him he had several properties for us to look at. He put us in the house we are in now as a rental and we bought it a year later. He was a great realtor and on the ball. Blast out some emails before you go and maybe you will get as lucky as I was.
