I wish the days of good tv like the andy griffith show were still around, instead of the crap we get nowadays. Im 26 and would watch Andy Griffith show reruns over Jersey whatever-the-crap-it-is anyday. RIP

That leaves Ron Howard, Jim Nabors and Betty Lynn.

There's more than that. Elinor Donahue is still alive.

I don't know why in the heck they ever got rid of her. She was an absolutely beautiful little gal. Ellie Walker was prettier and had a better job [pharmacist] then Helen Crump. What was Andy thinking??? Never did like Helen.

Agreed. Ellie was hot. So was Nurse Peggy (Joanna Moore). Helen was too b*tchy. Even the blonde lawyer woman was better than Helen. Helen's first movie was with Steve McQueen in The Blob (1958) before the Andy Griffith Show.

I can't say I liked his politics (specifically his AARP/Obamacare commercial) but I grew up with his show and loved it (and still do)...I went to Mt Airy NC in 2010 as part of my vacation; it's a great place to visit if you loved the Andy Griffith Show.

Does anybody remember "Salvage" where Andy plays a junkyard owner who builds a space ship out of junk to go to the moon and bring back the equipment left there? It was a bit of a farce but I liked that show. :)

RIP Andy; you left quite a legacy of a way of life that sadly, we'll never see again.
