Really can't imagine Guns & Leather providing substandard service in any area. I've always been impressed with them every time I've visited. In fact, that was going to be my suggestion for him if he was looking for a nice indoor range to shoot at in close proximity to downtown Nashville.

Glad you got it worked out.

Could also be On Target. Even though I am in Nashville, I drive to Murfreesboro because I do not like Gun City.

Sounds like Gun City. If so, that's not the first time I have heard of them providing shoddy service in any area. I'd find another range to shoot at if that were the case.

I was thinking the same thing.

I wouldn't go to Buford for anything. When I called him to first get my permit, he wouldn't let me take the class unless I took it using a revolver OR if I wanted to use semi-auto..it had to be a Beretta. I didn't own one then and couldn't afford one. He said my XD was not good enough to take his class with. I went elsewhere, and I have also taken training with PRI. I also heard from others that have taken his class that Buford likes to talk about himself way too much during his classes. I want to go to a class to learn, not listen to some instructor brag about what he has done. I could care less.

Fortunately, I've had great success with APPS and Buford. He's let everyone use whatever handgun they wanted to when I was there. Yes, he is very opinionated.

APPS is where my wife took her test.

I'm just going by what he told me on the phone and what I have heard from others who have taken classes there...he could have been playing devil's advocate...who knows. At any rate I moved on and I'm not going to sue him for saying I had to have a revolver or a beretta for his class.

If I would have known Phillip at Goodlettsville Gun Shop at the time I was going for my permit, I would have gone to him.

The thing that Buford didn't like about the XD was that he said I would forget to disengage the safety....apparently he hasn't shot too many XD's. :D

I own an XD an i love it , I have never had a jam and in my opinion it is very easy to dissemble. Im now looking into a Ruger P95.

I saw Buford Tune on American Shooter years ago teaching a class. He had the female students pointing their guns at him.:D
