What is going to change now that I am a mod

Recommended Posts

I've been an admin on other boards, a global mod on David's other board (car forum) of the past, and I own and admin 5 other forums myself.

I can tell you it is a delicate balance of tolerance and rules. :)

Let's folks go too much and they'll turn your forum in to filth. Police them too hard and treat them like children - you'll be either disliked or all alone on your forum.

Around here, I don't see much need for moderating members. Seems everyone on this board are decent folks. So I'll bet you'll only be moving the occasional thread that gets posted in the wrong forum, etc. ;)

Congrats on the promotion, though. :)

We actually, meaning the members and not the mods, police our own pretty well. The mods only get involved when asked to or if we see something that needs our immediate attention. And the biggest thing is everyone here acts like an adult even though they may just be big kids at heart.
