What the Heck, http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/man-bites-dog-eats-dog-high-spice/story?id=16660512#.T-u1zXnD-Uk

The alleged attack is the latest in the series of violent and bizarre incidents linked to spice, which mimics the effects of marijuana, and bath salts, which mimics cocaine.
You know, I can't image it actually mimics marijuana. I have never used marijuana but I have known people that have and they didn't do anything crazy.

Well, I used to smoke weed, and I've eaten a chihuahua. But it was cooked first. ;)

Spice? Really? I didn't know Han was making runs from Kessel to Earth.

Ha! That was pretty much my thoughts the first time I heard about it as well.

My daughter got me the bluray collection for fathers day and I just finished watching it. I think I will have a death stick and go to bed.

Well, not speaking from experience but from what I've read regarding these "spices", the effects due to whatever chemical compounds they put in there to make it legal (or at least bypass the law) is what is having this effect on people. An acquaintance of mine has done it before (not a bright fella) and described it as not being anything like marijauna other than a "stoned" feeling that sets in a while after smoking weed.

I'm a big believer in legalizing marijuana. I did it when I was younger, and while I'll agree there are health risks associated with it's excessive use, it isn't any worse than the health risks of excessive use of alcohol and not much worse than excessive tobacco use. These "spices" though are not safe and have been documented as such. The effects on the body are nothing like marijuana.
