He has a right to a speedy trial.... he got it.

I remember hearing that being one of the theories behind why they waited so long to charge Zimmerman, because they didn't want to charge him and then be subject to a speedy trial before they had a chance to gather all the evidence. Not trying to turn this thread or anything, just stating the theory behind waiting to charge versus going in for the kill. In this case I don't think they needed to spend much time compiling evidence.... not with the video.

I also was under that impression since it just recently hit the news, they made it sounds like it happened after Zimmerman because of the whole stand your ground thing.
