Haven't read all of the replies--I stopped after the first few tended to agree with what I was going to post. I agree with Rabbi and David, I carry everywhere it's legal . . .

As for OC, I do it occasionally during the summer when I just feel like carrying the H&K and am going to be in the shop all day with no other plans. If I do wind up going anywhere, people have mistaken me for a rookie cop in plainclothes--I DO NOT have a badge, act like it, or try to be cool--I just walk in to pick up whatever I need from the store, and have had clerks ask me which department I'm with.

Before, I carried just when I went places I thought I could possibly need it. Now, I understand that I could need it anywhere, because (especially in Memphis) crime doesn't just stay in the "bad areas" of town. If I'm awake, it's on me. If I'm asleep, it's less than two feet away.

Bonaroo is a big income earner for the state and locla governments. I know when bonaroo is in town because the Hwy patrol starts pulling all the young kids with out of state plates over on I-24.

The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival is a four-day, multi-stage camping festival held on a beautiful 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee every June. Bonnaroo brings together some of the best performers in rock and roll, along with dozens of artists in complementary styles such as jazz, Americana, hip-hop, electronica, and just about any contemporary music you can think of. In addition to dozens of epic performances, the festival's 100-acre entertainment village buzzes around the clock with attractions and activities including a classic arcade, on-site cinema, silent disco, comedy club, theater performers, a beer festival, and a music technology village. For its peaceful vibe, near-flawless logistics, and unrivaled entertainment options, Rolling Stone magazine named this revolutionary entertainment experience one of the 50 moments that changed the history of rock and roll.

I attended the festival the very first year. Then, it was called "Itchycoo", and it was a blast. Now that they've implemented so many rules, and the cost of tickets have quadrupled, I'm gonna have to pass.

On top of that, I was a bit younger. I'm not sure I can handle drinking, 24/7, for four days straight. Our tickets were free, but I somehow managed to spend nearly $500 in that four day period.

yup.

worst part is IMO, that the cops dont do much about it because they bring in soooo much revenue to the city and county that they "overlook" it

No offense nightrunner, but you're either over estimating the amount of drugs @ Bonaroo, or under estimating the amount of drugs in NY and Chicago.

Id have to disagreet here also. They have the dogs walking around alot of the vehicles before they are let in. That small town makes a killing off the fines & what not from the arrest they make over the concert days. At every concert venue theres always drugs of some sort but atleast at bonaroo most of the peeps there are hippies. Wanna see some real bad shizit go to a 50 cent or a The Game concert. Ive worked both before & those shows get crazy.

well, maybe exaggerating a little bit, but anyways.

a couple years back cops stopped a big RV motorhome comming in and searched it and found something like 200lbs of weed, 20lbs. of cocaine, some crack rocks, all kinds of paraphenelia.

i guarantee you EVERY tent out there has some sort of illegal substance in it.

Friends went one year, and apparently there are tons of folks wandering around, literally buzzing about, whispering in your ears 'ecstasyECSTASYecstasy" offering drugs, obviously X.

ridiculous amount of drug use, beyond that of just pot.
