Standing from Left: Jim King, Bass Outlaw, Riley Boston, Charles Fusselman, a Mr. Durbin, Ernest Rogers, Charles Barton, and Walter Jones.

Sitting from Left: Bob Bell, Cal Aten, Captain Frank Jones, Walter Durbin(holding the deluxe 1876 winchester), Jim Robinson, and Frank Schmidt.

This is a photo in a relative's house that is dated 1887. He is kin to the 4th fellow from the left on the bottom row, Walter Durbin, through his mother's side of the family. His grandmother and my great great something or another grandmother were cousins or sisters. Somewhere down the line, I may even be sorta tied to the same fellow. A real cowboy and Texas ranger! :usa:

That is really a neat photo. There are surely several museums who'd love to get a copy of that with the names.

I love the "assault rifles" of that time period. Mr. Durbin certainly had the nicest of the bunch. It would be quite a set if you were able to get the rifle to go with that picture. Thanks for sharing.

Hmm, wonder if I am related to that strand of Durbins?

Possibly! This relative's mother's maiden name was Miller...I don't know how she is tied to the Durbin guy from there.
