Alex Jones is a nutcase - if he said the Earth revolves around the Sun I would have to verify it before I would accept it.

ABC, NBC and CES have zero credibility but they still, individually have more credibility than "Infowars".

Glad I'm not the only one who has read into this today. Alex may be a little nutty to some but I'd take his news reporting over any mainstream media any day. All he does is report on other non-mainstream news organizations articles, not sure what's so crazy about that. Ultimately doing your own research is key.

To each his own I suppose...it isn't just his "non-mainstream" sources; it's that he then constructs all sorts of wild and generally ridiculous theories based on those less than credible sources. The man thinks the U.S. Government was involved in the Oklahoma City bombing and that 9/11 was an inside job :screwy: - knowing that about him it's pretty difficult to take seriously anything else he has to say.

I think we have plenty of real, well documented things to concern ourselves with; enough that we don't need to add wild conspiracy theories on top of them. :tinfoil:

A St. Louis Police Officer crying and saying they are training to operate with the military against citizens, but he can’t talk about it. Is there a single person on this forum that believes that? You think that the government would operate with a Police Department against the public, and say “But hey, don’t say anything.â€

Well, there was this post from yesterday...

Just sayin'

I hope that majority of the US army officers are patriots and not-brain-washed. I hope not every police officer is ready to pull fellow citizens into concentration camps. It would be the end of America otherwise

Every great dictator of the past had no trouble to recruit oppression forces

Ulyanov (Lenin) used militant punks from big industrial cities

Joseph Stalin released violent criminals from all the prisons (majority were not Slavic and barely spoke Russian) and gave them right and order to execute Russian citizens

Adolph Hitler recruited SS and later Gestapo from city outcasts and criminals plentiful in post WWI Germany

Mao-Tze_Dong gathered high school punks to start "Cultural revolution" - extermination of every thinking or patriotic Chinese

Fidel Castro was supported and guarded by Havana's mobsters

Pol Pot (Kambojia) was brought to power by local criminal clans

Nobody used regular military to pull citizens into concentration camps. All used regular police to protect ruling elite.

Expect the same pattern in 2012 America: city punks in black uniforms with license to kill

It can never happen here right...we'll if that's your mentality prepare to be a victim when it does. I would love to elaborate but this is a public forum after all. I strongly encourage everyone to do their own research, read all the facts, and make your own decisions. History repeats itself and don't be surprised when it does. If you don't question everything then you won't learn anything.

Who are you afraid of? What type of information do you have that you can’t post here?

And there you have it. Even if anyone bought into this, I’m not sure why they think the Military and Police would attack civilians. But even if they did, they would have to remain a cohesive unit; and they couldn’t. The Military and Police are filled with Americans, a very small percentage would turn of their country; those that did would quickly be put down.

It wouldn’t be a military action; it would be a civil war. There wouldn’t be any Military or Police Departments left to act as a unit.

When I was in the National Guard we would hold training in places such as the local fair grounds while old folks chipped golf balls in the dirt parking lot.

Often times we had local law enforcement serve as role players in training events. All in public for everyone to see. Maybe some folks found it an odd sight, but only folks looking for something that isn't there would probably go off running like chicken little.

On active duty I recall dozens of training events that went on in urban areas, especially cities, in order to bring some realism to the training and present challenges that are difficult to reconstruct anywhere else. We did all these training events with the cooperation of local/state and sometimes federal law enforcement so that they knew what we were doing in their backyard so there wasn't any incidents of mistaken identity and so that they could notify the community to prevent any concern. This goes on all the time and most time s folks don't even know. In fact, I've done several training events right there in downtown Nashville when I was still in the Army. All this was to better prepare us for our jobs downrange, and it did.

Going out of your way to see something that isn't there IS tinfoil hat territory. Hardly do I think a reserve unit meeting their 2 week annual training requirements signifies the beginning of a sinister plot to subject Americans under a dictatorship come November. By all means, any of you can go to St Louis and observe the training and I bet once you see the swollen uniforms of a bunch of non-combat arms weekend warriors your concern will go out the window.

Or the sky is falling. I'll resurrect this thread in November so I can say I told you so, but I'm sure by then they'll be 10 more conspiracy theories about how the gov is going to put you in concentration camps using street thugs from the ghetto. That sounds a whole lot more realistic than the explanation I gave you above.

Sheeple Looking Forward to Troops on The Streets

Sheeple Looking Forward to Troops on The Streets

Army troops are not going to be patrolling the streets to cut down on crime. They're doing their two week AT. Has nothing to do with policing or patrolling. Did it ever occur to you that perhaps this videos are put out to monetarily benefit a few people who seek to exploit the niche market of folks who want to believe the gov is out to get them?

Is blindly believing what some limey in his mom's basement says any different than blindly believing everything Rachel Maddow says?

I choose to not live in fear. When I see troops training in public. I see just that, troops training for urban warfare. If you think that's meant against civilians, so be it, I see it differently.

As Lumber Jack said, some of us chose not to live in fear about what might happen...England might try to take the colonies again or Canada may invade and grab the northers states (they may even be plotting something together) but I'm not going to lose sleep worrying about it without some concrete evidence to support the assertion.

As to questioning everything; that's a good idea and is people doing their own research. However, listening to crackpots like Alex Jones is NOT research - research needs to be done using credible sources otherwise it's worthless.

I'm all for having a serious discussion about this and other/similar issues but for that to happen, people need to bring evidence to the table than what is supplied by wild conspiracy theorists.

Lord knows I've had some major disagreements with both DaveTN and TMF 18B on some issues but I think they both nailed it on this one (+1 to both).

It's wonderful for everyone to have their own opinions on things and a good healthy argument is great to have. However any more opinions from me would fall on deaf ears so you guys have fun.

Opinions are easy to come and generally add little to a discussion.

If someone wants to enlighten someone else then actual facts supported by evidence is what is needed - unfortunately, facts supported by evidence is not so easy to obtain.

Is that any crazier than some of the stuff the government is telling us? :)

If you had told me 15 years ago that American citizens would have their email, and web traffic scanned by the federal government without a warrant... I would have called you nuts...

If you had told me 10 years ago that the President would be able to order the assassination of an unarmed American citizen in a far away country because arresting him was too difficult, I would have thought you were nuts :)

I'm not saying this story is accurate, but the bar is much higher now to just say 'nahh the government would never do that'.

Frankly, I like watching Alex Jones, it's kinda like watching a real life version of the X Files, but it's just entertainment to me... I don't buy into the whole centuries long quest to gain control over the entire worlds population...

But, I don't just dismiss out of hand anything said about the Government today... because what I thought was unbelievable a decade ago has come to pass today.

Anyone who openly declares jihad and operates in a terrorist organization against the US deserves exactly what he gets......a JDAM from 30k.
