Colt1851004.jpgI got it today HEHE. Dangit Mike!! I'm a little excited to try it out, though it will probably take to the weekend(have another truck to get going). It feels pretty god in my hand, but i'm not a big fan of the screw in the grip.

Thanks for the shipment Mark I will get a payment on the way.

Sweet! I want one.

And I want a Walker, and maybe a Dragoon, and still want a trapdoor, and a pony, and...

Dang it, Mike~!

watch out for them unfinished blanks from Dixie. I bought a set for my remington and forget about it. They are hard as rocks and I am not that motivated to work them up.

I'd like an Army .44 in case color hardened steel. I am good with 51's

Dang it me~

You two don't want much do ya? yall sound alot like me!! I'll stick with the grips for now, but thanks Mark. I have got to save some more money for my AR bulld, I want this thing pretty bad too.

The action feel good to me

XD be careful to not dry fire that thing.

Doing that beats on the nipples. Not the end of the world but not what you want to do.

Get you some fff grain Black Powder (Pyrodex P in fff is a substitute) a back of .454 balls, and a tin of #11 caps and go shoot the thing. You be hooked good then.

In lieu of a powder measure you can use a .45acp cartridge. It will work just fine and not overload anything. Heck, being steel framed you could fill it up and just leave enough room for the ball. You ain't gonna hurt it none.

Gee, XD, along about Christmas I was trying to sell my AR. Little matter of not getting paid when I was supposed to.

Oh well. Mike if you gave up on those grips bring 'em along, I'll give 'em a whirl.

I got me a pound of Goex fffg, a few balls, a powder measure,a capper,& a few cleaning supplies the other day before the thing came in. I just don't have enough time in the day to clean it right now.I have to take care of the youngens baths ,cook supper, all while i'm working on a truck in the shop. I'm ready for a rest!

Mike I don't like dryfiring anything, just not my cup of tea. But thanks for the info I'll be sure no one else does.

Mark I thought about buying an AR already assembled, but it's not as much fun. Plus I can put whatever I want on it without haveing surplus parts.

Hi Fullmetal, welcome to our little circle.

XD has a point - at $165, its' a pretty fair deal. Ubertis are better fitted, but this'n (pietta) is a quality piece. Gonna be fun making smoke, even more fun if you've got a buddy to shoot with...

XD, at this point I'd tend not to sell the ar (it is an M4 configuration). Heck, in 3 years it may be worth 4 times what it is now - or it may be contraband. Time will tell.

Good point on the AR. The Traditions that I bought I guess is the lower quality Pietta. It has Pietta made in Italy on the barrel. Yea Fullmetal I don't have anyone else here to shoot these things with!! Hint Hint!! I'm trying to get a Dangit Allan.

Both of my Pietta revolvers have proof marks and their name and logo on the barrel and in various places on the frame. Very normal for Italian replica makers other than Uberti. Uberti is more discrete and puts their proof marks on the bottom of the frame in front of the trigger guard and their name stamp is on the underside the barrel.

If you can put a more close up pic on here. i would like to see what the case hardening on the frame looks like.

I am thinking that gun is gonna be a sweet shooter

You bought what.... You act like it is killing you to take care of the kids. Which they are yours to..... I would be glad to quit my job & stay at home & do all that hard work!

Just playing..... I know it is hard for you:drama:

Are you not going to shoot that thing Saturday?

Posted

Hi Angel. You and XD, by any chance, cellmates? :D

Just kidding. Really!

What you need, Angel, is an 1849 or an 1862 - they have significantly smaller grips, weigh about half what that one does, and shoot a smaller ball (.31 and .36, respectively), so have less recoil.

Naturally, XD would have the cleaning chore, seeing as you are kind enough to shoot the BP with him...

xd you take that piece to the range and start throwing 30 grain loads of fff downrange and you will get some attention. hahahahaha

To be courteous you could attempt to be on the downwind side of the other shooters. But there is no fun in that.

Mike My little camera just don't want to take pix that close. I will take it back to work & use Okey's. His is alot better than mine.

That would be fun to do on the range, but it is the first time i'm going to meet most of them. Not to mention first time going to this range. I'll see what they think about it.

Mike, flasks and spouts have arrived, thought you'd like to know. I ended up with a pack or two of extra 44 wonderwads, in case you want to try them.

XD, you live in town, I take it?
