Alexander One of Five Republican Senators Voted to Help the EPA Kill the Coal Industry

It's sometimes a problem when Republicans trip over each other in some races. i wish Lou Ann could occupy

a different position. That was a tight race. Black's ad stating she has a 100% conservative voting record is

a tough thing to break. I just don't know much about her.

It's not tough to break if people look at just what Black has actually voted for.

Voting for the spending and raising the debt ceiling that Black has voted for is not "Conservative" unless one has zero understanding of what the word "Conservative" means; no matter how many commercials Black runs.

It is too bad TVA is public/government controlled. I swear if I were in charge of a large, important company like TVA or microsoft, and someone tried to mess with me, I would throw in the towel for a year. If at TVA and forced to do EPA stuff to the coal fired plants, for example, I would nod, smile, agree, and turn those plants off to install the upgrades. Which would then unforseeably enounter difficulties and take over a year to bring back online. I would then raise the rates by at least a power of 10, to pay for said upgrades. I would then allow chaos to ensue and sit there nodding and smiling while everyone had a crap fit, get on the news and apologise and put the blame right back on government and the EPA, saying it was out of my hands, if people want cheaper energy, gotta not regulate so much, if they want clean energy, gotta pay for it, make a decision.... Or in microsoft's case, just stop selling windows in the countries that sued me, tell them that I we are going to "make room" for healthy competition, no more products or support will be sold in your country, enjoy the opencrap.

I want just one big company to have the guts to do this just once. Once would be enough, the lesson would not have to be repeated.

I was just basing that comment on her commercial. Hadn't looked into the votes. Thanks

You're actually expecting Hank Rearden to appear, aren't you? :D

Yeah...I find her commercials especially irritating because she is MY congresswoman and I've been following her "Conservative" votes. Of course, she is not worse than many of the "Conservatives" in Congress but of course, that's a major part of the problem.

I've got pretty much the same problem with Marsha as well which is a shame because she started out pretty good but is now playing the go-along-to-get-along game.

Don't feel too bad, Robert. Fincher isn't setting the world on fire, either.

From Generation America;

Currently the U.S. Senate is comprised of 51 Democrats, 2 Independents (who caucus with Democrats) and 47 Republicans. This year there are a total of 33 US Senate seats up for reelection. Of the 33 seats, 23 are Democrat/Independents, which leaves a total of 10 Republican seats up for reelection.

Several political analysts are predicting that eight to 10 U.S. Senate seats are currently considered as "toss ups." Of these 10, seven are Democratic incumbents. What all this means is that Republicans have a good chance of taking majority control of the U.S. Senate.

Tennessee is considered "safe" but as we know it's not the party it's their ideology.

Alexander is not going anywhere but back to DC to represent TN once again. What is it now, like 40 years?

Everyone wants to bitch about him ( Corker too) but no one has a candidate to replace him.

Only in second term as senator, Mike. Since 2003.

40 years ago was before he was even governor.
