Obama Surrogate Suggests Making Voting Mandatory

I think a better strategy would be to put real people up for elections with real solutions for real problems and quit following the same old lies then we might see a change in voting turnouts. Most lower class people vote just because they understand that it is the one thing that they posess that cannot be taken away. Where everything else is subject to be take away. This belief is ussually common in the generation that lived through the Great Depression( not this one) when they saw everything being taken away. It is our responsibility to teach different generations how important it is to watch the debates and vote for the cantidates that best represent their beliefs.

Most lower class people don't vote, except when bribed by a carton of cigs and/or a six pack.

Thinking people traditionally vote when they hear a message they can attach to. Other people sit

on the sidelines and expect something to come around that they can attach to without contributing to

a situation. Get involved and get a message out. You start doing and getting other people involved

and you might see a movement. Hmm, Tea Party Movement come to mind?

if it's mandatory do they stretch it out over more than 1 day? do they have early voting? infrastructure would collapse if that many people got to moving round these parts on 1 day. think worse than al gore visiting during fanfare with construction and a flood

How about this.

We know who the caniddates are by November which gives the IRS plenty of time to add their names to the front of the federal income tax forms. You check the box for your chosen candidate. So at the same time you file your taxes you vote.

After all if you are not filing taxes and paying your fair share you should not be allowed to vote on who gets to use those tax dollars.

Won't work. All the best lies come the last 30 days of the election cycle, and it would be hard to coordinate that with tax day. Besides, I'm normally all kinds of pissed off when I'm doing my taxes, and generally want to vote ALL those thugs out of office. Don't think you'll get the career politicians to pony up for that idea. :pleased:

It's not hard to figure out what party anyone who has to be forced to vote is going to go for, since their schoolin' undoubtedly never got them any further than the fourth letter of the alphabet.
