AR 15 pistol and .22LR conversion kits?

I am currently working on my first AR 15 pistol build... I am using a virgin PSA lower with a DPMS kit, and a standard pistol buffer tube. I am contemplating using a JSE stainless 7" 5.56 upper w/ free float handguard. My question is this: has anyone tried running a .22LR conversion kit (specifically the CMMG stainless kit) with an AR pistol? I am just wondering whether the short barrel would cause cycling issues. While it is not a deal breaker for me if it would not work, I would just really like being able to shoot the cheap stuff once in a while.

It will cause ZERO cycling issues.

I will say you need to open up the smooth bore of the cahmber insert if you want to improve accuracy. I did some measureing and determined most 22lr rounds start out at least .224" which is fine for a centerfire barrel. The I pushed a .225" bullet through the cahmebr insert and it swagged it down to .221" which is WAY too small for the barrel. After opening mine up it shot groups that most factory guns will.
