How to dispose of live round

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have 1 round of 7.62 x 39 that would not fire. I purchased a bullet puller to pull the bullet. I did some Internet searches that said you can pour the powder in the yard. What I could not find was consensus on how to permanently deactivate the primer. What do you say?

Hit it with a hammer. :)

Since it did not fire, I expect it is permanently deactivated.

+1

Save it for dry fire trigger pull work.

And use the bullet for muzzle sizing.

put the case in a vise, stick a 10 penny nail down in it and knock hell outa it

Use a bullet puller, aka pliers, to remove the bullet. Pour the powder in a yellow jacket nest. Drop a match in the hole. Save the case for dry fire practice.

Use them for studs on your snow tires.

I dispose of all my live ammunition through the barrel - the way the good Lord told John Moses Browning it should be done.

Leave it on the desk of an anti-gun coworker. Mucho entertainment will follow. Edited by DaddyO
