Retiring just over a year from now and moving to west TN. Can't wait to get out of the city and back into the woods. We love hunting and fishing and being outdoors.

Where ever you end up will be better than where you are now! Anything south of Stuart, I wrote off a few years ago.

I hear that! When you hear gunshots here, you don't mentally check off which hunting season it is and wonder who got what...you duck!

Funny thing, we will be moving about 80 miles from Memphis... Actually our neighbors just left Memphis, he commutes back there for work but they had to get the kids out. Night and day from Memphis out here in the country.

I lived in Panama City for 7 years and that was enough of Florida for me. Contrary to popular belief, Florida does have four seasons:

1) Tourist season

2) Hurricane season

3) Football season

4) Summer

Welcome to the Volunteer State!

80 miles which direction. That might put you in my neck of the woods.

Oh yeah. I am moving from where I am now to my child hood home in the next month which will be about 45 miles from where your will be but still close enough to get together and shoot. Looking forward to a new neighbor.

Bethel Springs? You gotta be kiddin' me! I haven"t thought of that place in years. I was Trooper there in my other life. My first fatality was at the RR tracks there. That will put you near a number of other places you don't go near without a gun. If you go for a stroll in the woods and and find some big, tanky lookin' things near a stream go the other way before the shooting starts. Just North of there on the West side of the road was a body shop. BIG gun guys who worked and played hard all the time and would do anything for you. It's a great, if a bit insular place to live. Welcome to God's Country!

Thanks Slim! Our neighbors grew up in Purdy, they always steer us the right way :). We grew up in MI, so we know a little about the woods. These days if you smell something funny (like cat piss) you go the other way.

I'm trying to picture the body shop. Before you get to Henderson or just after the curve? I think I know where you mean.

Everyone has been so nice there, it's so refreshing after 10 years in Miami. Can't wait to move!

Way before Henderson. I'm thinking "Ray" was in the name somehow. This will also put you near the famous or infamous depending on your point of view, Robertson Pawn Shop. I bought, sold and traded many a gun there. I think I heard the old man has passed, don't know about Wayne or who is actually running it. They used to be honest as the day is long.

The billboard on 45 is still up, but looks very old. We'll be up in a few weeks, I'll check it out.
