Welp I was cleaning my Kel Tec sub2k last night

When I got to the barrel I spotted a crack in the hinge where the barrel ataches to the plastic hinge.So after cleaning it a little I noticed the crack travels the entire distance of the hinge

After a few minutes of cursing I flipped the dam* thing over and theres another crack in the exact same spot,and the exact same length.

So whats going on here?This has baffled me.

It looks as though the barrel over heated causing the plastic to crack or something.

I guess Ill have to wait until KelTec wakes up tomorrow to see what can be done...

I think Kel tec will make it right for ya, but keep us updated. Could be a bad run of plastic.

The last time I shot her was with Towerclimber and me had some light strikes.I chalked it up to some bad Wolf ammo,so I threw it in my bag and figured ohh well,maybe this thing doesnt like Wolf

anyhoo I just got to thinking about that and wondered if there would be some connection there?Now Im thinking it was cracked then and it was keeping the barrel from making a good connection to the receiver,thus keeping the firring pin from hitting the primmer hard enough Does that sound like a possibility?

For what it's worth I am given to understand Kel-Tec is supposed to have some good customer service

Dan at Hero Gear has a sub thats all Tacti-Cool and even has a Suppressor on it. See if you can get Joe to post up a pic.

No update as of yet.I haven't had time to get it packed up and sent off yet.I should have time to get her packed this weekend and sent off Monday

Kel-Tec will make things right I almost 100% guarantee. Good thing is that it is a rifle and you can send it back to them for under $15.

If this is something that you can change your self you could get them to send you the part. Saves you and them money and your gun is not gone. They are good about sending parts.
