Nikon P-223 Scope Question?

Recommended Posts

Posted

I recently acquired a Rock River Arms AR15 and it came with a Nikon P-223, 3 x 32 BDC optic.

First thing I did was take it to the range to zero the scope at 100 yards. I know the scope height above the barrel affects the point of impact but, is point of impact 8 inches higher than POA normal at 100 yards? It started at point of impact 10" high and will adjust no lower that 8" above POA.

I like this AR, it reminds me of my days with my issued M-16A1 back in the day.

there is a problem, i would guess if the scope is not bad then you have a high MOA mount, like a 20 MOA offset mount. but some of the Nikon 223 series come with that, sorry no help.

i guess you could look up the adjustment range for the scope and with it bottomed out count the number of clicks, to be sure the scope is doing what it is suppose to be doing. also have the rifle in a fixture with the crosshairs centered on something and make sure that the crosshair did move.

That scope lists with 150 MOA Max Internal Adjustment and each click is 1/4 MOA adjustment.

I just don't see how your running out of adjustment on an AR with a scope built specifically for an AR.

Are you using the Nikon P-Series scope mount?

Maybe your mount is too high?

I use the Nikon M-223 3-12x42 BDC 600 with Nikon M-223xr Mount and it works perfectly on my Colt LE6920. :)
