I used to work at a car wash in Memphis, it is called Regal Auto wash. They also have stores in Nashville, and some in several other states (Ohio, Minnesota, Kentucky, and Wisconsin) I am writing this to let people know how they treat their employees, And hopefully get everyone to find another place to get their car cleaned. I started working there in November of 2009, In september of 2010 I was asked to become assistant manager, which was a big mistake. I was way under paid for the BS I had to deal with. After 8 months of being assistant manager they decided that they were going to do a background check. Well I have a HCP, so my background is fine. They also did a credit check Which is not fine. I have bad credit. Well they gave me a choice, I could either go back to a production person or quit. Well, at the time I was enrolled in a community college. But, during my time as A.M. I ended up making to much money and lost my pell grant. And since I was just a production guy, I didnt make enough to pay for school. (I lost over $600 a month after the demotion). Well last month I put in time for vacation, they waited 4 days before my vacation to tell me that they were not going to pay for it. So, I quit. What i dont get is how they couldnt trust me with money or keys to the building, yet, the Government can trust me with a Handgun? So I am asking anyone who treats their car to an automatic Full-serve car wash to Find another place to get it done! REGAL AUTO WASH TREATS THEIR EMPLOYEES LIKE CRAP!!!!!

That is the short story, I could go on and on. They were suppost to do the credit check first but the distirict manager at the time thought he would squeez me in because I am a hard worker. I had customers that would only let me touch their car that is how good I am. If you have any questions let me know!!!

I've always been against credit checks for employment. So many good people run into hard times and they base an employment decision from something that may have happened years ago and is completely irrelevant now.

Most places say that good credit shows responsibility and that part is understandable, but they need to consider the entire story and not just what is printed on that report.

Yep, my credit is not so stellar due to a stupid youth. A credit check is a rather poor tool to use for employment purposes. Plenty of honest people fall on hard times.

I'd find a new place to work. Their policy is what it is, and honestly doesn't impact their customers. It conceivably protects them. MANY companies do credit checks as part of their preliminary or promotion screening, so you need to get that squared away as best you can.
