I think the reason Dolomite can see it is because as a Subject Matter Expert his account has certain privileges. I've been wanting to overhaul the Benefactor logo so that you guys get a little more recognition, and if I do that I will make it so that the member title is something you can play around with.

Thanks David, I keep forgetting that I have extra stuff others don't.

Next time I will log in my wife's account and check.

I see and can change "member title", hence "doubts most everything"; only status I have is normal Benefactor, just like OP. Has been that Benefactors can change that field even with the previous vBulletin. Did something get stepped on for some folks during the conversion to IPB?

Benefactors can use custom user titles in their profile.

yup, I haven't looked to change it at any point until now but I thought of something endearing, witty, and meaningful, then I saw someone else had something just like that so I'm back to the drawing board. but I would like to tinker..

i was asked about this from another member as well....I can change mine and always have been able to (that I am aware of)

both of us are benefactors....but his is like the OP's. No option to change.

I have even logged into his accout to verify that and sure enough, not even an option??

any update on this David?

So the thing that determines whether a person can change their member title is the number of posts they have. The setting was previously 500 posts, which means anyone with 0-499 posts couldn't change it.

I've lowered the restriction to 250.

Just seems odd when I see many others with less than 100 posts that are classified as TGO Members. I try to post when I have something meaningful to say rather than just trying to increase my post count. I thought you wanted meaningful discussion on this forum rather than some of the meaningless drivel that goes on that you recently chastised on another thread.

If you reach the level of 25,000 posts you are given the title of "gunpowder sycophant".

If you reach 50,000 posts your title becomes "has no life offline".

And if you reach the 100,000 post level, what the hell are you doing here? You should be writing healthcare legislation!
