my wife and i read this when it first hit the news...she was all upset as well as I.

we just had our first child together and the "new mom" in her came out in her and she cried a bit...understandable.

I have a 5 yr old...so the "dad for 5yrs..close to age as the victim" came out in me and I got all red faced and mad...

he got what he deserved IMO....like someone else said, it saved a young girls life (even if by "life" we refer to her future mental and emotional state of well being) she will hopefully be ok, and forget this? and the other he more than likely would have abused.

it was natural selection at it finest....the strong and moral triumphed once again. One less evil gene spreading sicko to worry about

Looks like they are now investigating this as a homicide, and are planning on sending it to the grand jury.

I thought they said they would send it to a grand jury from the get-go.

Yeah I think they said from the start that a grand jury would decide this one. I doubt he'll be charged with anything.

Yep, just crossing "t"s and dotting "i"s I think. What a waste of time to try to charge him. No Texas jury would convict him, ever.

I don't think there was ever a threat. I think this was just procedural to make it clear that his actions were justified. I don't think anyone involved lost sleep over this based on how LE commented on it at the start. Even if this POS had his hands up and was surrendering it wouldn't have mattered. The father never would have seen the inside of a jail cell.

Grand jury came back with no indictment. The DA said she hadn't seen such a clear cut case in her career. The father is clear from any criminal responsibility. Now let's see if this POS's family tries to sue.
