I'm not sure if this belongs in this forum or not, since it didnt technically involve a firearm, but I'm sure he would have used one if it would have been handy. Looks like the guy caught some dude molesting his daughter & just beat him to death with his bare hands. I would be interested to see if this goes to trial, & if it does, if any jury would ever convict......

It's Texas. I'm thinking the DA doesn't want a mark in the Loss column.

I'd still bet on a civil case though.

To bad the bad guy died quickly. I can think of a lot slower ways to die that would be more fitting for scum like this.

Hopefully because the girl is so young she will be able to get past what has happened. Probably the best thing for her is for everyone else to never mention it again in her presence so maybe the memory will fade with time.

And for that dad, good going. I know he is having to deal with taking a life but hopefully he realizes by doing so he saved his daughter from further abuse as well other children.

His actions are how all child abuses should be dealt with.

Have read that in TX, "He just needed killin" is a valid legal defense.

I must be cold hearted?

God forbid, if that had ever occurred to my daughter, I would not have one ounce of remorse. IMO, any family member ballsy enough to sue for wrongful death is in the same morbid gene pool.

I hope no charges are filed and this serves as an example to would- be molesters. If he had of lived, he could have pled to some lesser charge and been walking free in under a year.

Since he killed him while protecting his daughter the father probably won't see charges. Plus it's Texas.

Many places here continue to recognize the "needed killin'" defense. Even as a lawyer, self help is still the best action.

That's how I would have handled it. They should give him a medal, a key to the city, and a parade.

No. He didn't take a life, he saved his daughters life and the others that would have followed.

Good deal! That's being a real dad right there.

Although I agree, it's too easy. I'm reminded of a pair of Louisiana brothers that took a similar waste of oxygen down to the river, laid him on a flat rock and broke every bone in his body with hammers. Never killed the guy outright, just left there. I can put up with lot but any crimes involving children and or sex should be dealt with in the most lethal of fashions. Go downtown, there's a whore on every corner. You keep your filthy hands off someone's child.

This story points out why you should know someone who raises hogs.

There's nothing left but teeth after that...and they're randomly scattered in a slurry of feces.

Knew people who kept a couple hundred at a time. The leftovers from butchering a deer got tossed in. There was never a trace.

NO NO NO the teeth are bad for the Hogs digestive track. Just pull them and toss them in the river or swamp.

Best comment I've seen on this so far was in the comments at a blog I read:

Heh. When I read this one, my first thought was "man, that's gonna be hard to top for her first date.

You imagine that scene?

"Well, Billy, here's a newspaper clipping of that time where I *beat a man to death* for touching my daughter. What time did you say you'd have her home by?"

Commission a statue depicting his act of valor!
