Gander Mountian = tools

The issue happened last month but I searched here and nothing came up.But Gander Mountain cancelled a NRA/IRL Grassroots Workshop in Wisconsin because of phone calls and emails from anti-gun activist.

What is their logic for cancelling if they are anti gun then they are probably not spending money in your gun store anyway. So tell them to get bent.

I don’t see anything to indicate this was because of phone calls or emails from anti-gun people. I also don’t see anything to make me think this was any kind of an NRA “Workshopâ€. Unless “Workshop†is the buzzword for Political rally.

These were Political rallies for Governor Walker. Does stopping that mean they are anti-gun in Wisconsin? Thats a question.... I have no idea.

Isn't this pretty much like shooting yourself in the foot? I've only been to one a few years ago but I thought they sold firearms in addition to hunting clothing, ammo, etc etc. I don't understand how this is a smart business decision for them. All they've done is slap customers and potential customers in the face. It doesn't seem like Gander has a very good reputation around here anyways based on the posts.

The NRA will find other, better, places to host events.

As ridiculous as most Gouger Mountain gun prices are, my guess would be that they probably sell more camping/hiking gear to the likely anti-gun, wannabe hippie, tree-hugging, granola types (who drive their Lexus or BMW to get there) than guns.* Kind of like the Dick's here in Knoxville got rid of their fishing and hunting department because, for them, the real money is in softball supplies, etc.

*No offense intended to campers and hikers in general or folks who drive a Lexus or a BMW - just the wannabe hippie types.
