OAL 9mm question

I am loading a Delta Precision and Montana Gold 124 gr JHP. This is for range use, IDPA, etc. Also shooting in S&W M&P. I would like to find out what OAL others are using for this bullet. Thanks

I used about 800 out of 1000 Precicion Delta 124 gr RN FMJs and finally dusted off the rest this week.

I'm loading them to 1.125" like I do all 9X19s. I personally prefer to work up loads varying the powder instead of the OAL. To me keeping the OAL constant ensures that all my 9mm reloads will cycle the same.

The Precision Delta bullets are the ONLY exception I've run across so far. They have such a wide ogive that I am forced to seat them deeper (1.105") to keep the nose out of the rifling. This means even less powder than usual, which is economical, but I hate changing 2 variables at the same time (length and charge).

As deep as I have to seat the 124 gr bullets, I often wondered something. I use Bullseye powder and it's dense enough for deep seating. Some powders are way bulkier and I've heard some seat their bullets as short as 1.07" or 1.08". Seems they'd be compressing the powder quite a bit at those lengths with bulky powder.
