I wonder how these were tested but later in the article it states for target practice only

http://www.hornady.com/store/Z-MAX-Bullets

“Be PREPARED – supply yourself for the Zombie Apocalypse with Zombie Max ammunition from Hornady! Loaded with PROVEN Z-Max bullets… MAKE DEAD PERMANENT!â€
Worried about a zombie attack? Buy zombie bullets.

Talk about zombies and a possible zombie apocalypse has increased due to recent gory accounts of drug-induced, flesh-eating attacks in the news.

Little known fact, Hornady saw these zombie attacks coming and gave some rounds to the LE that responded to them for final field testing to confirm effectiveness.

All the zombie stuff in the news is just advertising for a upcoming movie that will be nothing like the book it was named after.

Are the z-max rifle bullets just V-Max with greed plugs?

If you like the Zombie rounds, take a look at this from a .223 v/s car door video we did.

Are the Zombie handgun rounds (i.e., the 9mm) the same as the Critical Defense, just with a green plug instead of red, or are they not to be used in a carry weapon?

I have 500 of the 55 gr. 22 cal Zmax's. They look like VMax to me. Even says "when varmint attack" on the box.

I saw your post on the other place. It will be interesting to see if they respond in public. I can't imagine this whole thing being more than a packaging job. Why would they go with a new bullet design? We all know that CD works just fine on Zombies :)

From my understanding they are the same, plus a little cheaper too.

They did, and other than the case, it's the same.
