So how do I go about getting all these great deals from Midway, Brownells, etc. that everybody is always talking about? I know I have to make copies and sign ONLY the copies, but where do I go from there? E-mail, fax, snailmail, what?

Let the advice flow freely....

Midway, Brownells and AIM Surplus all allow you to send your C&R license as a pdf file to them. Just sign a copy of your C&R license and scan it to create the signed pdf file copy and either upload or email your C&R license to them. Most of the others still require snail mail unless they have changed their policies recently....makes no sense to me but apparently dinosaurs are running those other companies.

don't fool with it from midway. You come out better off using discount codes that don't work from a dealer account. Most of the site isn't any cheaper.

Brownells on the other hand does a great job with C&R dealer pricing.

Yeah, wish I had known this before I sent Midway a copy of my license. I got approved and logged on hoping to see some good deals, but the prices were all the same from what I could see. I was pretty disappointed with that.

As far as Brownell's goes, I haven't been able to find info on how to send them a copy. Do I just fax or email it to them with a note telling them my account info or what? I also sent a copy to Southern Ohio Gun, just waiting to hear back from them, and mailed a hard copy to J&G Sales this morning. Can't remember if I contacted AIM yet or not. I have a list at home, can't remember if I marked them off or not.

Anybody else I need to look at? Just starting to look into reloading also, so anybody that might give discounts in that area would be super.

Now you get on a first name basis with the customer service reps at AIM, J&G sales and about a dozen other places!!!

I don't know what you're talking about with Midway. I have my license with them on file and I get a discount on everything if it's not already on sale. It's usually only about 10% but it's still a discount.

Got an email back from them welcoming me to the dealer network. Logged on, prices said "Dealer Price", but they were the same as the price displayed when I wasn't logged in. Even went to another computer to make sure it wasn't a cookie issue or something, checked a few items before logging in, then logged in and looked at the same items. They were listed as "Dealer Price", but it was the same as the price before i logged in.

They may not have you plugged in yet....or you are looking at reloading dies for which there is NO discout, at least for me on Lee dies.

Yeah, ok. I was looking mainly at dies and presses. Now I'm seeing some discounts on other stuff. Bullets, tools, that sort of thing.

With Brownell's do I just send them an email referencing my account with the pdf of my license attached? Their email contact form on their site doesn't appear to have a way to add attachments.

As a new C&R holder you are obligated to buy at least one Mosin.

I already own one. But a companion M1895 revolver and a K31 would probably keep it company. :D

Yeah, that little $30 fee is going to cost you a lot of money. :stir::rofl:

I'm pretty sure I set up my account with Brownells entirely via email....otherwise I wouldn't have an account there.
