yeah to get a new one (not a rebuild) starts at 1449. I'm sorry but for that kind of cash I would rather get a 1911. While I may not be a glock lover, I do recognize the good design when I see it. While the alloy glock looks neat, I have to ask myself, what am I gaining by having an alloy glock? would a sig not do just as good if not better job for half the price?

I kind of feel like they are messing with a proven, well designed pistol and by changing such an critical component of the gun you kind of defeat the purpose of it's initial well thought out design

I've thought a lot lately about doing this to a Glock IF I buy one . . . mostly for the higher capacity (relative to 1911's) and the 1911 grip option. I'd like to feel one in my hand, but none of my regular customers has one and there aren't any to rent on this side of the state that I know of.
