That being said I have never shot one of the "Sport" AR's without forward assist and missing the case deflector so it might be a different story there.

The M&P15 Sport does have a case deflector, it's the dust cover that it's missing...

I agree with the consensus to shoot a couple of the ARs first and see if a right-handed model will bother you or not. If not, the M&P 15 Sport is a great bargin and a quality gun. If so, then go ahead and spring for a left-handed model. Either way you'll be able to modify it till your heart's content, so it's not like you have to stick with whatever you buy "as is"

I would put it that other ARs have a dust cover added. :)

Funny how none of my other semi-auto rifles or handguns seem to need dust covers either.
