slotted patch holder tip for 17-20 cal?

Recommended Posts

Ok, so the jag tips are for the birds. At least on the 17 cal.

It's either to big, to small, or the jag punches through the patch.

And I eventually just give up and wad patches up and cram them in the camber and press then through.

The bore mops are no better, they just dirty up REAL fast.

Any one found a slotted "loop" patch holder tip for the .17 cal rod?

I shot 3 different 17HMR rifles this weekend and had to clean them all.

By the time I was done, my patience was tested thoroughly.......

I got a bore snake for mine.

I never have used the ones that have the built in brush.

But I'd think after the first couple passes the thing would be pretty dirty.

So any further passes would just smear the old powder and oil back down the barrel?

But I will try and find a snake with a loop in the end, maybe even make one?
