Maggart sees it as her unwavering responsibility to ensure sitting lawmakers get their jobs back next year. And she faces her own tough re-election challenge against Courtney Rogers of Goodlettsville, a retired U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel.

I thought the "job" of a State legislator in Tennessee was to:

I .......... do solemnly swear (or affirm) that as a member of this General Assembly, I will, in all appointments, vote without favor, affection, partiality, or prejudice; and that I will not propose or assent to any bill, vote or resolution, which shall appear to me injurious to the people, or consent to any act or thing, whatever, that shall have a tendency to lessen or abridge their rights and privileges, as declared by the Constitution of this State.

Maggart's use of secret meetings, and secret ballots, to kill the Employee Safe Commute bill seems to act in cross purposes to her oath, and, to what we as Citizens need our legislators, (and the Leadership of said body) to do on our behalf.

While ms maggart can usually be counted on to cast a conservative vote, she sometimes votes with the party rather than with the people. Same can be said for Beavers, Black (In the US house), and most of the other incumbants. It's time to line em' up and give'em their walking papers and the primary is the perfect place to start.
