Finally got to use my new Remington 700 AAC-SD today. I had the muzzle brake lathed for a perfect fit instead of messing with shims. While expensive it looks fabulous and more importantly it seems to be working as intended. I got a an adjustable bipod and a stock sleve. The later mainly because it looks cool and was easy money.

Enjoy the artistic take on the photos!

The range photos were taken today at a range on the North Side of San Antonio, TX. My apologies to the Texans on either side of that muzzle brake. The range was nice. It has Zombie Apocalypse Refuge Center written all over it - the main building is an old RV with lattice work fence around it. The RSO was there mainly to make sure you police your own brass. The targets were set up by one heck of a cutie pie (God Bless Texas) in a golf cart.

The funny thing was the local bird species were at war with each other and flying in and among the targets. While we were shooting. How they managed to survive can be attributed only to their small size and high speed! It was rather annoying. I imagine they were put off by the shotgun range...

Thankfully the rain of the last couple of days dropped the temperature to an almost chilly 81 degrees with 44% humidity.

Many thanks to D & T Arms of Goodlettsville for the sound advice on the Rifle and Scope and help getting the scope set up!

Muzzle break! I just died a little inside. A nice Surefire flash hider/suppressor mount would look killer on that bad boy.

It would look cool. I just wish suppressors could be justified for the price. I think my orthopedic surgeon is happier with the brake than my ear doctor would be with the can. :-)
