Best case scenario: Since all the construction is un-permitted, it could be turned back into a plowed field.

Neither scenario is likely; it'll be something in the middle. It's possible that they are not permitted for any follow-on phases.

In any event. Construction has halted. The mosque team has now plowed lots and lots of their money into a building they cannot use, and the money in the building isn't being used for anything else.

A mosque is meant to be a temple, a place of pray and place of peace. It should not offend civilised people of XXI century regardless of their beliefs.

Koran and especially Hadith were written in violent language. It is responsibility of Imam (prayer) to accommodate the teaching of Mohammed to nowadays society. If the prayer takes the route of Omar mullah, such practice violates the law of our land. And then the mosque should be taken from the followers as a place of conspiracy and the leaders should be prosecuted according to the law.

Acting in advance by revoking construction permit is the way of bureaucrats and cowards.

The Old Testament is rife with exhortations to kill non-believers, too.

Islam still needs about 600 years to mellow out the radical rough edges like Christianity did, and it probably will.

Okay I feel the same way about liberals but they still have rights. How scary to have our laws turned against free Americans looking for a place of worship. If this was a church I would feel just as strongly. I am surprised that good Christians don't see it that way.

If I read that decision right, it had more to do with the

process used by the planning commission than it did

with what actually would be built. Neighbors have the

right usually to complain about land use changes. Of

course you can make that into something else, I guess.

The method of this being blocked is far from the reason. I remember when this all started and the interviews with area folks on the news. They don't want it built because its a mosque. There is no "reading between the lines" here; the aim of the opponents is very overt. If this was a super-church people wouldn't care. That just doesn't seem right to me. Not in this country.

Much as we like to tout our 2nd amendment freedoms, it's quite telling to see some folks so willing to trample the 1st amendment.

If due process wasn't followed, then that should be addressed.

only relying on a court document, why are you speaking

for the citizens of Murfreesboro in such a foul way?

There could very well be good reason.

The same way they couldn't build their mosque

Muslims are not different than Christians. Most are peaceful people, but a certain element of the religion has corrupted its holy scripture and use it to justify hate. In case people have missed it, people have done the same thing with Christianity. What some people here are doing would be like saying that the Aryan Nations and their Church of Jesus Christ-Christian or Westboro Baptist Church are representative of all Christians in the world and should be discriminated against as such.
