I have the CTR and an ACE. Both serve their purposes well. Can't imagine needing to change.

Can't get much lower cheek weld than the ACE, it's a foam tube directly over the buffer tube, but no collapsy, no movey. (Although they do have an adjustable model.)

What will be the purpose of this AR you're building? Decide that first then proceed. Too many people add too much junk and special purpose items to ARs never using them!

Yup, exactly.

Pimped out rifles only prove how much you have left to learn.

It IS a system when you're done. I have MOE and CTR on my light weight carbines, an ACS on my .458 SOCOM, and a PRS on my gun with the 24" bull barrel. You want the gun to have some balance.

My purpose is just having my first AR-15. I'll probably take some shooting tactical courses and such and having it as a fun range gun.

FWIW I'm doing some mods to my first AR-15 also. I just added the Magpul CTR stock and so far I really like it. I prefer it over the MOE because of the tension lock, once you lock it down it's not moving at all. Seems pretty comfortable so far also.
