Hiking/Camping Trails

Looking to hike a trail that mostly runs by a river so that I can also fish and that also allows camping? Any suggestions? Would prefer somewhere in East Tennessee/ North Carolina.

Thanks,

Tyler

You know that is a pretty long drive, but I have a buddy at Fort Knox that I am supposed to go see may I can convince him to drive down there. Is there good fishing there? and Thanks for the info

I have no idea how the fishing is but I'm sure the Big South Fork(River) has fish in it. I go for the trails and the fact that no one is there.

You may want to check out the Gentleman's Swimming Hole trail located in the town of Rugby.

One of my favorites is the Alley Ford hike on the Emory River. The trail is part of the Cumberland Trail. Put on the trail at the Rock Creek campground at Nemo Bridge. The hike is only about three or four miles long, but it ends up at this really great sandy beach on Clear Creek. I'm not sure how good the fishing is, but it is very remote there.

You can get a map of the area from the Ranger Station in Wartburg.
