There is certainly alot of parallels of ancient Israel and the US today. The point being is that if you put your faith in God and obey his laws,then God will bless you and our country. We see news posts everyday of people acting like heatherns that we can not even fathom the things they're doing, and we ask " What in the world is going on in our country ". Faith in God is the only logical way of understanding with any perspective of what is going on in our country and in the world. The Bible reveals alot of knowledge ( light ), but if you do not accept the light then you will wander in darkness without understanding. " They have eyes but they do not see, they have ears but they do not hear, they have a brain but they do not understand ".

I know the non- believers will never be able to understand this as Jesus said " forgive them father for they know not what they do " . As we quickly learn growing up that we have to be accountable to authoritiies of parents, schools, police, government, and yes even God. It is with God that many object to his authority, and this is why I believe we are seeing things going on in our country that simply don't make sense. Just like not obeying your parents, you then get punishment, and it is the same disobeying God. Look at how God punished the Isrealites for their stiff necked refusal to obey God laws, he dispersed them all over the world for over two thousand years until May 14,1948 when Isreal regained nationhood, as prophesied in the Bible.

I hope this doesn't happen in November 2012, but if Obama gets re- elected, I believe it is because God is in control, and he is punishing our country for turning our backs to him. Does it really make sense for our country to have a communist for POTUS. And without a doubt in my mind and heart, it is because of the divine blessings of God that America has become the great and exceptional country that we have the privilege of living in. How much longer America remains a great and exceptional country remains to be seen, but if the people continue turning their backs on God, I don't believe it will be for much longer.

Apparently you forgot to put your big boy pants on before you decided to willingly participate in this thread. I'm sure there are many things you've said on TGO that these folks wouldn't agree with. Should we have an rule against curmudgeonery?

Simply put, if the thumpin' hurts, find another thread that doesn't. You're a grown up. Exercise some "free will".

I guess that gives me a certain power to retract it too, right? After all, you see how well it has ever been adhered to which is why it isn't part of the official "Rules, Terms and Conditions" linked to at the bottom of each page. The original decree you're referring to hasn't been posted in over a year to the best of my knowledge.

Frankly I'm tired of us having to have a "Rule" for everything, either here on the forum or out there in real life. I don't think you guys really want the moderators involved heavily in every thread any more than you really want your legislators involved heavily in your lives.
