EAA Bountyhunter?

I recently found out about a cowboy action club and range close to where I live. Since everything I own is modern I have been looking for a set of revolvers to start off with. Does anyone have experience with the SAA Bountyhunter in .357?

Thanks Richard. I've read the review before but am still weary. EAA doesn't have a great reputation for quality and I have read mixed reviews online.

EAA guns are some of the best values out there.

I have owned a lot of EAA guns and all have been reliable, accurate as well as good looking.

I would not have any reservations about buying any EAA guns.

Seconded...

I've had an EAA Windicator and an EAA/Tanfoglio Gold Custom. Both worked flawlessly without the slightest bit of trouble. However, be forewarned that if you do happen to get something that misbehaves, EAA does have some reputed "issues" with their level of customer service. That is well documented on the interwebz.

Even knowing about their CS issues, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another EAA weapon.

eaa does not make anything. They are an importer of euro guns. That said, I have not seen anything they import that was not of good quality, and the tangfolio brand witness guns are excellent. However, if you want to know about the gun, find out who *really* makes it perhaps for more reviews?

The manufacturer should be Arminius, a division of Weinrauch in Germany. Supposedly, they make all the wheel guns for EAA, including the Windicator that I previously owned.

I have a windicator and love it. It is a little heavy but I have never had an issue with it. Everyone that shoots it is impressed by it. I would buy another EAA wheel gun. The plus side is the price, if you don't like it you can always sell it for a little loss. Let us know how it goes I have been looking at the Bounty Hunter and would like to hear what you think of it.

My experience with EAA was exactly the opposite. I will Never own another one.

I had a Witness that had an almost catastrophic failure. They repaired the pistol but revoked the warranty and claimed that I had modified the weapon.( I had not) It had less than 200 rnds through it.

The quality was not there and they tried to cover their sloppiness with lelegalese when they saw that they coulde sued.( I did not even think of susuing)

All in all I was highly disappointed with them.

I will not own another and I can not in good faith recommend to anyone else.

What are the allowed revolvers? If they have "modern" where you can use single actions with a transfer bar, it's hard to go wrong with a Ruger Vaquero or Blackhawk. I personally love the Ruger single actions. strong, accurate and won't totally break the bank on the price.

In Gun Tests, Jan 2001, the EAA Bounty Hunter was tested and recommended "don't buy".

That was 11 years ago and the bounty hunters are made by a different manufacture now.

The Rugers are definitely well made...but also over $200.00 more.

try looking at some used ones?

Both my Ruger revolvers were bought used. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another used. as long as it locks up and the cylinder gap isn't ridiculous, you'll have a good pistol.
