probably a little premature until all the facts are out and the final verdict is raised.

if he is found to be the aggressor, that school will look pretty stupid celebrating this young man!

duh!

Gee...I guess I'm really getting old because I can remember when we picked heros to memorialize who actually did something worthy of being memorialized and celebrated...I guess that's just too old-fashioned these days.

From what I've learned, Travon Martin was either a full-fledged thug or at least training to be one and while he may or may not be a "victim", I'm damn sure that he's no hero.

"We want to send a message to stop the bullying and bring about a happy spirit," Coleman said. "A sense of bonding within the community and within the school."

If that's the message, shouldn't this be GZ day?

The inmates are truly running the asylum.

I'm not buying the whole "highlight racial injustice" argument either, not with this case anyway. Sounds like Malcolm X Elementary is desperate to find a hero if you ask me.

Nah, even if he is found to be the aggressor they will just switch focus from Zimmerman to "the young man's life so oppressed that he felt violence was the only answer." It's either Zimmerman's fault or society's fault. Treyvon is not responsible for his own actions.

Heck if they want to make a hero for kids to look up to whats wrong with redskins QB RG3?

Now there is a young black man who is making something of his life.

Which city will be the first to have a Trayvon Martin Boulevard? :)

The name of the school explains everything.

Malcolm X Elementary School

Malcolm X supported violence as a means of enforcing his views.

Malcolm's view evolved over time, but Malcolm would turn over in his grave at such poor scholastic performance in a school named after him. X was a bright fellow, head-and-shoulders smarter than most modern race hustlers. IMO much brighter than Barry Soetoro.

The man was one of the most talented public speakers of his age. Many of his old speeches can be viewed on YouTube. Ain't sayin he "had it all together" or that he wasn't playing with fire, but his message was about hard work and independence, community cohesion and self-defense against outside exploitation. He wasn't looking for handouts. Basically just looking for people to stay out of his business.

Surprised? Ghetto trash celebrating ghetto trash.

I agree! They will only teach them to hate the white race!

Can you imagine the outrage if a (white latino) school had a "George Zimmerman Day"... in order to celebrate the right of self defense?
