Question for Morpheus or = guru on long range

SSA now has a 6.8 SPC 140 VLD that is still supersonic at 1K, i have been planing on getting one for some time with my Stag coupon, in fact i have some ammo, PRI mags, scope and mount. and have been looking at there 20.5" hunter.

just wondering what your 2 cents is on the subject. would that be okay or would i still get the look of fear from fellow long range shooters?

FYI the look of fear i am talking is when i showed up with a 20" AR 5.56 with factory loads to shoot 1000 yards and never being at 1k match in my life. yes i have shot the distance before.

yes i know there better choices, but the 6,8 is some thing i have beening wanting and now the new ammo.

i still i a have a wilson coupon to use first. (they expire) there coupon is also good for 20% off (but i want) the Wilson Combat 6.8 suppresser.

this prize table stuff. had to by the mags and ammo.

As long as it was supersonic at 1K and of sufficient accuracy, I don't see why it would be a problem. I've thought about a 6.5 Grendel or 264 LBC with a 123 gr Lapua. I'd get a good brass deflector. If someone doesn't like it they are more than welcome to buy you the gun they want you to shoot. Paint it pink with purple polka dots and fire for effect.

what a great reply! it had me rolling!

when i do get my 6.8 i no longer have access to the river bottom property to practice and prove my data. but something will turn up.

1100R showed me a nice 18" new for about 460.

i can get the stag hunter upper 20" complete for 495 or the complete gun for 800.

plus i got a offer for another 20"
