Cricket pistol, round two

Recommended Posts

So it had a threaded barrel made from an old 10/22 barrel. It was a 16 twist barrel which works well for most 22's but I wanted more. It also had a sporter chamber which isn't ideal for accuracy either.

But because I wanted something more, more accuracy as well as a harder hitting subsonic round it now has a 9 twist barrel installed. It is also threaded for shooting the 60 grain Aguila SSS rounds as quietly as possible.

It also has a match chamber that engraves the bullets upon chambering. I have yet to fire the SSS rounds for accuracy but I have fired standard rounds and although they are way over stabilized they seem accurate but most importantly I had no baffle strikes in my suppressor.

My next bit of testing will be with some of the SSS rounds to check for baffle strikes and then accuracy testing. And even with the 60 grain bullets the twist is too fast. The miller formula shows 2.98 and ideal is ~1.40.

I'll post results in a few days

In the pistol it worked great. Single holes out to 25 yards. Problem was the cheaper subsonics I normally shoot were giving me 1 foot groups at 25 yards. I would rather have the gun shoot cheaper ammo well than the expensive SSS rounds.

I have about 4 barrel stubs at the moment that were all practice barrels. I think tomorrow I am going to make a final barrel with 16 twist. It will work out better that way.

I am going to keep the SSS barrel in case I have a need for it but I don't really see a need for it.
