Interesting concept, obviously aimed at making the XD super competitive in shooting sport classes where modifications to the firearm are seriously restricted. Like USPSA Production. You can't modify (stipple) the grip in Production, but you wouldn't have to with this firearm. It also would appear that this will fit inside the Holy "Gun Box" at IDPA events where if the gun won't fit, you must quit.

It's the ultimate gamer gun for production class events. I kinda like it. :)

It looks like a Walther P99 & a Smith & Wesson M&P had a kid. I cant wait to get my hands on 1 of those.

Anytime I see or hear the word "Synergy" I start to tense up

and get that quizzy feeling in my gut. I guess they are also

thinking "out of the box"... so that "at the end of the Day" they will

have "grasped the opportunity" to "meet and exceed" all their customers

needs in this "new challenging global economy". :)

Nice looking pistol though. Would like to see how it feels in my hand. :)

I likes it! I've been considering the purchase of an XD. Maybe I need to wait for this. Any idea when it'll be available?

Supposedly it will be available this week or next. Springfield is unveiling it at the NRA National Conference this week and they wanted it in dealer / distributor hands before then so that it could go on sale immediately.

We'll see if that is true or not.

If they wanted to gear it toward USPSA Production it should have been a 9mm.And those sights have to go but most serious Production shooters change them anyway.

Who said that .40SW was the only caliber it will come in?

Besides, there are quite a few people shooting Production with bunny-fart .40SW loads with just enough powder to meet minimum spec. The advantage being on the poppers and plates that sometimes 9mm shooters have difficulty knocking over. And there are other games besides USPSA. I can see where IDPA shooters will probably love this gun even more.

In USPSA, I imagine that Limited-10 and Limited shooters will really love this one the most.

Still no word of local shops having any on hand? Or prices?

Dan @ Hero Gear posted in their 5.11 Sale thread that he might have some within the next week and it will only be the .40SW version.

Yea, the shop I talked to said the same thing. The .40SW is the only one I'd be interested in. Well, unless they come out with a 10mm.
