Extractor for a .22 Ruger standard

Recommended Posts

I bought the missing part from Numrich Gun Parts. The $1.40 exractor. Now does anyone hear know how I install it? I put it in the slide where I thought it goes but it just keeps falling out. The manual doesn't help much.

Please all help is appreciated

It goes in through the front of the bolt on top of the plunger and spring (A25-J and A25-J-1 in the schematic):

No prob... sorry I didn't think of the possibility of the spring and plunger being missing earlier, I just assumed they weren't

Those parts are really cheap too, thankfully.

Try ruger, shipping is like $3.50 I think and the parts are pretty cheap.

Midway and Ruger will both have them for under $6 shipped.

Make sure to assemble disassemble them in a 1 gallon zip-loc bag in case parts go flying!!! Wear eye protection also.

Take it apart using a screwdriver to push down the spring and carefully pull the extractor out. You won't need any special tools to put it back together either...just put the plunger and spring in and push the extractor down in there...it will catch into place.

The extractors for the MK I, II, III, 22/45, 10/22, and charger are exactly the same part and will readily interchange.
