Shooting "change"

In the Zombie sub forum in a thread call "confused" (warning.. Disturbing mental images) there was mention of making bullets out of coins. Got me remembering ,which in it self is difficult to do these days, talk about loading shotgun shells with a stack of coins. I don't remember if it was dimes, nickels or pennies, but it was supposedly devastating at short range. Anyone ever hear of such a thing?

I remember the last resident evil movie i saw used quarters i think in a sawed off 12ga. I highly doubt that any coin would actually work very well as a projectile or its use would be widespread i would think.

I also doubt it would be very accurate at all

Check out you tube. There is a video put up by a guy named Iraqveteran I believe.

They do some pretty fun stuff including loading up sone dimes in a shell and blowing a sizable hole into a sheet of plywood. They also show how to make a "slug" by cutting the shell almost all the way around about halfway down the shell.

Pretty neat stuff though I can't speak one way or the next about the safety of it all.

I have made the wax loads.

When you come out I will load up some pennies or dimes in a 12 gauge. I have never done it but I bet the pattern will be huge with some zinging in random directions.

Speaking of which give me a call later. Might be able to get together tomorrow.

Awesome. Call you around 4 or so?

Despite what he has to say I'm pretty sure you'll have a bad day getting hit with coins out of a shotgun.

Oh don't get me wrong. I'm not volunteering to stand in front of it! But I'd be happy to record it on camera for posterity if anyone wants to try it. :x:

I have always enjoyed that "Box O' Truth" website, anyway while I have never loaded coins into a shotshell I can't imagine that they'd be very effective beyond a few meters, coins aren't exactly aerodynamic and would lose velocity/energy very quickly.

yea price per round is the issue. Duhhh lets load up a 12 gauge with 8 quarters for shot.... now, the end of the world as we know it when quarters are worthless, that might be an idea.....

I don't think quarters would fit... The original load was pennies.

Probably not, now that you mention it.

I used to shoot pennies out of a slingshot, it was cool but they went every which way but straight (that was part of the fun).

I might have to try that when I get home. I haven't gotten to use my slingshot in quite some time.
