Is it safe to eat catfish out of the Hiwassee River (polk county) and the ocoee river (Polk county)?

I grew up on the Hiwassee, literally less than a half a mile from her, and still to this day love the river, and fish it every chance I get. Based on your location, I would guess that you are fishing east / northeast of the Charleston boat ramp, closer to two rivers. I would say certainly, and based my fellow engineer's, Peejman, post: go for it. I would not eat anything downriver of the Charleston boat ramp, however. Too many "if's" with Bowater and Olin in the area.

thank you for that info. Yes, i would be fishing two river camp, and up, also down highway 64 past Parksville
