AR bullet speed from plane

I don't think so, the military can't build a plane faster than the black bird, they tried and the skin ripped off it. Now take a copper cased bullet. It would probably break apart in a couple feet.

I believe the X-43 was a bit faster, by roughly 3 times, than the BlackBird, but it's unmanned. Not sure any human would enjoy flying at Mach 9+ anyway.

Depends on your definition of "plane". The line gets blurry depending on altitude, propulsion method, and self-sufficiency. The X-15 exceeded 4000 mph, but is it really a "plane"?

I did some googling when the thread started about planes "flying into their own bullets". Found a few threads and articles with varying opinions.

One korean war pilot in an interview, said some of the scientists expected it to be a risk with the Sabre jet but in practice it didn't happen. Then found opinions of other folk claiming to be of the same era, who said that certain maneuvers are to be avoided. As best can recall, I think it was such maneuvers as firing while level or climbing "at high speed" then going into a dive in the same direction, in which case they said you can catch up to your bullets and they drop back down on you.
