Havent stopped in, in a couple of weeks. Reason being been under a lot of stress, the good kind, stressing which new 1911 to get. I got real fortunate, two weeks ago wife decided she would add to my 1911 collection. Gave me a limit, $1350. Well, to be honest I have never owned a 1911 that cost more than around $950, thats my Custom II. After that its my Loaded Stainless. Of course when she told me I kept my cool but inside I was jumpin for joy. She made me make a promise though, after this one, no new guns for 6 months, cause like many of you fella's, I have an addiction that is only soothed by spending money on my favorite product. But I dont have a problem with that, I made one purchase last week, one today and my plan was to save up some Money so I could head to Anniston in November to pick up two Garands. So it fits. So, anyhow, I must have looked at 5000 1911's over the last two weeks. Read too many reviews and gun magazine editorials to count. Posted a ton of posts on various local Forums for opinions and got em. And narrowed it down to three.

STI (Model was to be determined)

Colt Gold Cup National Match

Springfield Trophy Match

I had made up my mind the purchase was going to be today before noon. However, none of the STI's I wanted were anywhere near my price range. I wanted a Colt, but for my first 11 years in the Army I carried Colts and Remingtons and what I really wanted in a Colt was a 41 through 45 Government. That will have to wait until after Christmas. And although the Trophy Match is a really, really nice gun, I already have two Springers and my Loaded has about everything I want in a Springfield. So about 3 this morning Im sitting there at a dead end, still looking at 1911's, not one caught my eye. I wanted something that would hold up for many years and many many rounds, and something that had as many features available as a Custom Shop gun as possible without a 2500 dollar price tag. The gun in the link below, I had personally never seen before. Had one of those "Love at first sight" moments. I searched for reviews, there were a few, but everyone of them was positive, I even googled for negative reviews and only the positives came up. After reading about the features and specs, my mind was made up, it wasnt an STI, Colt or Springfield, and I made the leap this morning, it shipped at 10 AM and will be at my FFL Monday morning. The reason I posted in the topic 50/50 showoff, because the link is to the website photo, I wont have mine in hand until as mentioned, Monday morning. Couldnt help myself, I was going to wait until Monday to tell anyone, but someone asked and next thing, Im showing it off. lol. One thing, I havent found anyone who owns one, if someone here owns one please let me know what your opinions are on it.

Polished slide, match grade trigger that breaks between 4-5 lbs, match grade barrel hand fitted in the Custom Shop, forward serrations, and a bunch of other stuff. Pics of my personal to be added Monday, followed soon by a Range Report, I am setting up a 400 round per gun range comparison test between this and my Loaded Stainless.

And one last thing is, they claim this is the finest Production 1911 they have ever produced, the experts and owners seem to agree. I hope so.
