I found the wording of the first sentence to be odd, "...accused of using a gun and ammo to kill a man..." Other than "pistol whipping" someone to death, doesn't it go unsaid they used ammo?

I don't see that this will be a "blow for the Second Amendment" - from the article that is admittedly light on detail, this doesn't have the appearance of a justified homicide and if it isn't a justified homicide then the Second Amendment is (or at least should be) a non issue.

It will be interesting to hear all the facts (if we ever do)...there must be quite a story behind a "visit" turning into a shooting death from a rifle!

It's supposed to be a clever play on words... he's a former editor for Guns & Ammo magazine... thus he used Guns & Ammo to perform the crime. It's a very bad attempt at a pun.

Well, they arrested him for 2nd degree murder so there is definitely more there than the article allows us to know. If it was simply aggravated murder he wouldn't have gotten the 2nd degree. I'm guessing there are some extenuating circumstances.

Something's up, or else it would be a lead national story. I'm curious what a "large caliber" rifle will turn out to be. 50 BMG? Rigby double?

You would think so...but that would require common sense for some people.

I have noticed this MANY times on movies and on reality cop shows. They'll pull some guy over, look in the car or trunk, and then say, "I got a gun here...AND IT'S LOADED!" No one ever says, "I've got a hammer over here...OH MY GOD! AND THERE'S A BOX OF NAILS! TAKE COVER!!!"

Who knows. Zimmerman shot Trayvon with a "powerful" 9mm. I think it depends on which liberal douchebag was writing the story.

Most likely a .22 or an AR

Always enjoy Mr. Venola's column in the back of G&A, he writes good articles too. Hope this is some sort of misunderstanding.
