You are so right. With drones in the sky, camera's on the street, and administrations changing the historical entries of former administrations we are on our way to fulfilling Orwell's 1984 prophecy and with the economy in the dumper Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged prophecy.

I remember back to when I first read Orwell's 1984 thinking I'm sure glad I live in the U.S. where we are free to choose our own path. I'm not so sure anymore as to how free we really are. If I were king, the first thing I'd do is get rid of ALL the entitlement programs. I believe most of our problems are rooted in the idea that the purpose of government is to provide a safety net for those who WON'T take care of themselves.

Back on topic, my country has been stolen in stealthily subtle increments over time. This election is perhaps it's last long shot gasp, maybe either way it goes -- but it's pretty damn certain where the BHO option leads.

Well old Orwell was a true-believer socialist but he apparently wanted it to turn out closer to swedish socialism than IngSoc.

Anarchists get a bad name but there are so many flavors and they fight amongst themselves like cats and dogs. Like Baptists vs Catholics though both supposedly christian. There are private property anarchists and there are "no such thing as private property" anarchists among other flavors. Some anarchists can superficially sound kinda-like commies and others can superficially sound kinda-like libertarians or even conservatives. This fella sounds almost like a libertarian. The video attempts to interpret history according to his philosophy, which is a common intellectual game as played by so many, including Marx or Hayek. Ain't sayin the fella has it all figured out. Accidentally ran across the video today which presents an interesting perspective.
