Need a Mechanic

Anybody know a good mechanic that works on Volkswagens. I have a 2001 Diesel Jetta that may need piston rings. As close to Elizabethton,Tn as possible. Thanks

Gentleman off Weaver Pike in Sullivan County only works on VW etc.

Has a good rep. but I have not had the need of his services personally.

No I didn't. However a scheduled service for an 08 Mercedes is ridiculous. We were charged over $400 in knoxville, and A&I charged $100 for the same service. It wouldn't hurt to get an estimate.

Nevermind, I read it correctly this time. Piston Rings.

With major repairs I'm hesitant to use some smaller shops that may due just fine, buy I prefer a nice well presented shop, and that's what I found at A&I. But in the end I may end up paying more for the same job

Dang thats a huge difference in price. Major prob = white smoke out exhaust and burning 1 qt of oil per 200 miles.

Knoxville is a hike, but there is a guy down there Matt Ford, he advertises a fair bit. He specializes in VWs, sales and service, as well as high performance.

Don't know his prices or his reputation, but he is a specialist.

I know of a guy in Kingsport that would be happy to help you out. He typically deals with fleet diesels but he will work friends and referals at a good rate. Shoot me a PM for info.
