I just saw this reviewed on military.com and thought it was cool. Kinda pricey, but might make a nice all in one item to throw in a BOB.

That one has some pretty cool added features, but I wouldn't pay $20, let alone $50. Those bracelets are just too easy to make to pay for. This is the coolest one I've seen in a while, though.

If you haven't already seen them, there's some great videos on YouTube. Search for Stormdrane or TIAT, their videos are the best. Once you learn how the cobra weave works, you'll see how easily these added things can be added fairly easily/cheaply. The hardest part is probably drilling those tiny holes in the firestarter rod, LOL.

I like it for the handcuff key. I wonder where you get a buckle with that in it?

Just thought I'd toss this out there FWIW. In Florida it is a FELONY to be in possession of a hidden handcuff key. Not sure about other states, but it's a commonly charged statute in many parts of Florida.

And there is no way I'm going to pay $50 for something like that. Just put all of it in a plastic bag or Altoids tin and save about $40.

843.021 Unlawful possession of a concealed handcuff key.

(1) As used in this section, the term:

a. "In custody" means any time while a person has been placed in handcuffs by a law enforcement officer, regardless of whether such person is under formal arrest.

b. "Handcuff key" means any key, tool, device, implement, or other thing used, designed, or intended to aid in unlocking or removing handcuffs.

c. "Concealed handcuff key" means any handcuff key carried by a person in a manner that indicates an intent to prevent discovery of the key by a law enforcement officer, including, but not limited to, a handcuff key carried:

1. In a pocket of a piece of clothing of a person, and unconnected to any key ring;

2. On a necklace of a person;

3. On the body part of a person or on any item of clothing of such person, when the handcuff key is secured on the body part or item of clothing by use of tape, glue, line, or other material;

4. In or within any compartment, seam, fold, or other encasement within any item of clothing, belt, shoe, or jewelry of a person;

5. In or within any sock, hose, shoe, belt, undergarment, glove, hat, or similar item of clothing or accessory of a person;

6. By a person and disguised as jewelry or other object; or

7. In or within any body cavity of a person.

(2) Any person who possesses a concealed handcuff key commits a felony of the third degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084.

(3) It is a defense to a charge of violating this section that, immediately upon being placed in custody, the person in custody actually and effectively disclosed to the law enforcement officer that he or she was in possession of a concealed handcuff key.

(4) a. It is a defense to a charge of violating this section that the person in custody and in possession of a concealed handcuff key is:

1. A federal, state, or local law enforcement officer, including a reserve or auxiliary officer, a licensed security officer, or a private investigator as defined in s. 493.6101; or

2. A professional bail bond agent, temporary bail bond agent, runner, or limited surety agent as defined in s. 648.25.

b. However, the defense is not available to any officer, investigator, agent, or runner listed in this subsection if the officer, investigator, agent, or runner, immediately upon being placed in custody, fails to actually and effectively disclose possession of the concealed handcuff key.

I'm not aware of such a law in Tennessee, but I am not a LEO here. I know about the Florida law because I was a cop there for 7 years (never charged anyone with it though).

I wouldnt pay that either, but then again, I wouldnt have thought of putting that stuff in there in the first place..altoid tins...yep! I like tins...I use them for lots of stuff.

Altoids! It is pretty pricey for a bracelet, and I'm pretty sure that it wouldn't be hard to make one.

Somebody slap some edu-ma-cation on me here. Let's say, for the sake of argument, it is legal for a civie to have a handcuff key here in TN.

1) If I'm ever handcuffed, it'll be by an LEO for something they think I did or something I didn't mean to do. I'd suspect I'd make it worse using a hidden key to relieve myself of my restraints. When will I ever need one, then?

2) I don't know enough about handcuffs (thankfully, I've never had chance to wear any). Do they all use the same key? If so, that doesn't sound very smart.

handcuffs do genrally use the same key. imagine how many keys prison officials would need for tranports if they didnt?

im not aware of a law in TN prohibiting it but i havent looked either. i spent 10 years as an MP and still have a cuff key on my keychain.

I'll be darn, I just Googled it and it seems there are only a couple of major handcuff makers and the keys all look alike.

No reason for handcuff keys and no need for the bracelet in a BOB in my opinion. Id rather throw in an entire bundle of paracord.
