Looking for good/inexpensive flip up AR sights

Recommended Posts

Right now my flat top AR just has an eotech on it. I'd like a set of flip up iron sights. Need both front and rear, I'd like them to be reasonably nice but not too expensive. Am I asking too much? Any recommendations?

Thanks for the input everyone. I'll probably end up ordering a set of Yankee Hill. Probably more than I want to spend for something that won't get a whole lot of use (I like the eotech), but what the heck. Looks like a set of YH will run about $150.

Oh, and the front sight has to go on a railed gas block, which means I can't use the Magpul or any other polymer sights. :(

Unless your running full auto or at least dumping a mag every 15 secs for 10 mags you wont have any problems with magpul on the gas block.

I'm not, but every ad I see for them states that their flip up front sites are specifically not to be mounted on gas blocks, only on handguard rails.

There are also gas blocks with built in flip sights on them. Perhaps getting one of those and selling your railed gas block might be the cheaper alternative? And then getting a Magpul for the rear.

You can get this - http://www.del-ton.com/YHM_Front_Sight_Gas_Block_p/st1018.htm and then sell your existing gas block $60 or whatever it cost. So net additional cost would just be $30ish for front block and sight, and then u can spend $40-50 on the rear Magpul. Lotta money saved there.
