I used to use Bellshire Hardware, but I see they have gone up to $30. Is there still anyone doing transfers in the $15-20 range?

Guns for America in Berry Hill / 100 Oaks does free transfers for active military (and maybe LEO, can't remember), and IIRC $25 for everyone else. I used them several months ago - I would have used D&T, but the extra gas and time would have made them more expensive for me. I still intend to throw them some business at some point for their support of the site, but it won't be on a transfer.

That's very cool of D&T. I need to order a few ar15 lowers and possibly a mosin nagant set rifle and revolver. Looks like I will be doing that there.

Is it possible to order more than one firearm on the same transfer if they are coming from the same place? Not really sure how online transfers work...

Yes, a person should be able to transfer more than one firearm from same location on the same transfer form.

But, check with D&T before ordering any lowers. I'd been planning to get a couple stripped lowers online, yet Dave posted that he received some last week.

I ended up purchasing two stripped lowers that D&T had in stock, at a price that was the same as if I had ordered them online, plus shipping & transfer fee.

I'm not trying to stir up anything, but instead of looking all over town spending a bunch of time trying to save a dollar, you'd be much better served finding a store where the people are friendly and helpful and make you feel welcome. I've never been to D&T but all I hear is good things about them. The fact that they're cheap is just a bonus.

We are all doing ourselves a disservice by not supporting the vendors that do the best job to bend over backwards for us. Not a thing wrong with shopping, but it seems petty to drive across town to save twenty bucks.

FWIW I agree completely. I have worked at a few mom n pop local shops and really appreciate the custom of local regulars. Being new to the area it seems shopping around would be in order, but it also seems TGO has saved me some gas money at the least.

I've got no problem spending a little extra to help keep good people in business. What chaps my behind is independent shops like a certain gun store in my neck of the woods that prices items far over typical. Like 7-10% over msrp. Then look at you like you've grown a third arm when you ask more than 2 questions on an item without whipping out your wallet.

What I don't understand is how somebody's price can "chap" someone. High prices, move along. Don't get mad, buy elsewhere. . Competition is a beautiful thing.

Call Kings in Columbia. I think they charge $20.

It's not just the price, in fact as stated I am happy to pay a premium for quality goods AND service. What chaps me is the fact that I feel like the people at the shop in question really don't give a damn about the me the consumer. Keep in mind I'm talking about having a sales person asking if I needed any help, getting asked a question and answering over their shoulder as they start walking away before even answering the question.

Anyway, a moot point as I'd honestly rather give my money to walmart than that particular store. At least the guy at the counter at my local wally world seems more than happy to shoot the bull a bit on the product he sells.

A super moot point if D&T is half as good as I'm hearing as that will most likely be my go to store providing I am happy as happy with the service as I expect I will be.

Usually the good thing about capitalism is, the lack of customers from poor service eventually puts

those out of business. Just part of what nicemac said. :D
